Microneedling Aftercare
Congratulations on taking the first step to healthier, more radiant skin! Here's a simple guide to help you care for your skin post-microneedling:
On the day of your treatment, the most important piece of aftercare advise is to just leave your skin be - we have created micro-damage to the skin and there are many tiny wounds currently on your body where we have needled. It is important to leave your skin alone and avoid picking, squeezing, touching etc. as this could transfer bacteria to the skin, which can result in infection.
Day 1-3:
- Keep it Clean: Continue to cleanse gently twice a day.
- Moisturise: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser twice a day.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect your skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
- No Makeup: Avoid wearing makeup for the first 24-48 hours.
- Avoid Hot Baths and Showers for the first 24 hours.
- Avoid Swimming pools, Saunas and Steam Rooms for the first 48 hours.
Day 4-7:
- Continue Gentle Care: Keep cleansing and moisturising as before.
- Light Makeup: You can start wearing light makeup, but avoid heavy foundation or powder.
- Sun Protection: Continue to wear sunscreen daily.
General Tips:
- Avoid Picking: Resist the urge to pick at your skin, as this can lead to infection.
- Be Patient: Results from microneedling may take several weeks to appear.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.
